Dashboard tiles

The Screen Time ring

A Home Assistant tile that turns your iPhone Screen Time into a live ring — every app you track becomes its own coloured bar with its real icon, and today's total sits in the middle. Set your name, copy the code, paste it in.

Preview shows sample data. Your card fills in from your own Screen Time apps.

The part before the app in sensor.greg_instagram_time. The ring auto-detects every app under your “— Screen Time” device — just set this to match.

Screen Time ring — YAML

What you need

One free HACS card — the layout, colours and icons are all built into the card itself:

Install it, then reload. The ring finds every app under your Screen Time device automatically — no list to keep updated. Icons and bar colours come from Apple's public app catalogue by name; pin a specific colour by adding a row to the KNOWN map in the YAML.

  1. 1

Set your name, press Copy YAML.

  2. 2

On your dashboard: menu (⋮) → Edit Dashboard.

  3. 3

+ Add Card → scroll down → Manual.

  4. 4

    Paste the YAML, press Save.

Not sure of your name? In Home Assistant open Developer tools → States and search for _time. The text before each app name is your entity prefix — set the field above to match.
